Mental Health 1st Responding in the Classroom
Teachers are in a position to be the first to notice when a student experiences distress. When a student experiences difficulties in the classroom, there may be more to it than meets the eye. Learning about the mental health issues that face the youth in our schools, and how to appropriately respond, can make a difference for student success. Student behavior that appears as a discipline issue may simply be a symptom of a mental health disorder. Learn to respond appropriately as a first responder to your students with an open mind. Or help to teach your teachers at your own schools. Come and learn how to promote confidence and safety for all students.
